The Peterborough Minor Lacrosse Association is currently accepting applications for three Memorial Scholarships in memory of Jay Loucks, James Johnston and Chris Fee. All scholarships are open to students (male or female) who are currently in or hoping to enter post-secondary education in the current season and who have played for the Peterborough Minor Lacrosse Association at the house league or rep level. Students can apply for more than one scholarship, but are not able to win the same scholarship twice. Scholarship Applications are due August 15, 2018 at 4:00pm. Please submit to PMLA Scholarship Chair Emily Vassiliadis emily.vassiliadis@bell.net The Jay Loucks Memorial Scholarship award is presented annually in the amount of $500.00. This award was created with the help of Jay's former teammates, the Intermediate Lakers. The funds were raised by the team, via donation at the memorial games they have held for him. The PMLA would like to thank: all the players for raising this money; Jay's family for their many donations; Jay's friends for coming out to the memorial games and donating what they could to the cause; and anyone else who was touched by the story and donated money on Jay’s behalf. The James Johnston Memorial Scholarship award is presented annually in the amount of $200.00. This Memorial Award was created by the Peterborough Minor Lacrosse Association in memory of James Johnston, who was tragically taken from us in 1993. James Johnston was a tenacious lacrosse player who was very well respected by his teammate and opponents. The Chris Fee Memorial Scholarship award is also presented annually in the amount of $200.00. This Memorial Award was created by the Peterborough Minor Lacrosse Association in memory of Chris Fee, who was tragically taken from us in 1988. Chris Fee played the game of lacrosse with incredible passion and skill. He too was well respected by his teammates and opponents.
