This Memorial Award was created by the Peterborough Minor Lacrosse Association in memory of James Johnston, who was tragically taken from us in 1993. This award is given to a player who most exemplifies the character of James Matthew Johnston and his love for the game of lacrosse. James, who in his quiet assertive manner, a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye, always had time to help the new players to the game of lacrosse. Strong leadership and a skilled competitive player resulted in many championship runs around the arena for James and his teammates. His spirit will always remain not far from our hearts.
