To be approved as a coach by the OLA, the following requirements must be met (see each step in more detail below):
1. Register as coach in Sportzsoft
2. Have Coaching Certifications Uploaded to your Sportzsoft (See links to coaching clinics below)
3. Email VSC - Vunerable Sector Check to Registrar (see info below)
4. Complete Making Headways Course and upload your locker to Sportzsoft

Prior to the season, coaching applications will be posted. After you apply, you will be scheduled for an interview. If you are selected as a head coach you can proceed to the registration process and background checks

To register to coach Peterborough REP and House League (Box or Field) you need to register on SportzSoft. (Free Registration for Coaches) 

1. Login to SportzSoft
2. Click New Registration 
3. Select Tab: Box Season or Field Season
4. Select the Registration Product 
5. Proceed through the next pages to complete registration.

* If registering for House League Coaching, please select the "BOX Coach House League ONLY" option.

Community Development

This coaching certification is required for:

• Boys, Girls - Box and Field
• All Paperweight, U9, U11 and U13 Coaches
• And, First Year U15 and Above Coaches

1. Become trained at the Community Development Level by attending a discipline-specific (either box or field, or a combined box+field) certification clinic
2. Complete the "Making Head Way in Sport" Concussion Awareness online module (required)

Competitive Introduction (Trained)

This coaching certification is required for:

• Boys, Girls - Box and Field
• Second Year U15 and Above Coaches

1. Become trained at the Competitive Introduction Level by attending a discipline-specific (either box or field, or a combined box+field) certification clinic

Note: Successful completion of Community Development is a pre-requisite for attendance at a Competitive Introduction certification clinic.

ALL Bench Staff (Rep & House League) are required to complete a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)  in advance of the season. If you are new to coaching or volunteering with a team, Click Here to obtain the letter you will need to include with your check. This letter will allow you a discounted fee as a volunteer. All VSC are to be submitted online. Please see the appropriate links below.

Returning coaches from the previous season, only need to complete the Declaration found HERE

Options to complete your VSC:

There are a few options available to obtain a VSC.

1. If you reside within the City of Peterborough, Village of Lakefield, or Township of Cavan Monaghan, complete the VSC process online HERE 
2. If you live outside the Peterborough Police Jurisdiction, you will need to complete the VSC process online with the OPP HERE 

3. Get your background check faster on Sterling Backcheck:
   OLA members can go online to obtain the necessary criminal record check for OLA registration. The fee to OLA members is $27.00 + Tax and most reports are prepared within 24 hours. All results are confidential to end users.  Link to Sterling Backcheck Here
